Fear of Missing Out (FOMO).
One of the most insidious curses of the modern world. What happens though when you allow yourself to realize that you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be, exactly where you are… right now.
Did you miss out on Buzz Clips? Did you miss out on 120 Minutes? Does it matter?
The chorus of Stars goes like this:
I thought she'd be there holding daisies
She always waits for me
She thinks she missed the train to Mars
She's out back counting stars
But we were never going to fucking Mars anyway. We’re still not. We ARE Mars. The real movement isn’t out there—it’s inward. It’s in seeing what’s already here, already alive, already aligned.
What happens when you realize that you’re already counting stars at any given moment? The back of the head is assigned to Qoph ק, the Moon. This is the location of the Third Eye chakra, the energy center assigned to the Moon as one of the seven inner planets. When this center is in alignment you’re “out back counting stars” all the time.
Try looking through the walls of your room right now. Try looking beyond the earth outside. Aren’t you looking at the stars? That’s cosmic consciousness.
Everything—the walls, the floor, your own body—is the same energy, the same stardust, just arranged differently. The only difference is how you’re perceiving it. Your sensory organs, your mind, your energetic field—all of it is just a translation device. A way to make sense of the infinite.
Listen to Hum. Listen to THE hum, the so-called music of the spheres. You’re not missing out on anything. It’s all here right now, for you and through you.
Here… enjoy a young Conan O’Brien introducing the band from Champaign Illinois, still here, performing Stars… ‘95 to Infinity ∞
Preach! “Missing out” has opened my eyes to what I already have. “Missing out” is a blessing. Keeps me present and also helps me avoid unnecessary/impulsive consumerism.
